Shure SM57 is a good choice for recording guitar, a classic of the genre. I use
it to record rock, metal and others, great results for the money. High
performance of mic, quality of manufacture and delivery !! I recommend it if

Very good mic

Im using this mic in my bands studio, for recording bass and guitars. It has a
very good gain for bass range, but the input needs some more equing after
recording (on a mixing board). Very sensitive mic.
It has a nice package with bubble foil, and with a leather(?) bag with the
Shure logo. Very nice!

I love it!
I use it for my snare drum and its a real bargain!
I also use it for my band mates guitar recording and it even can do this
flawless!
Its one of thhe best mics ever!!

Its also durable, I hit the mic by mistake (and I hit hard on the drums) and
nothing, not even a scratch or something.

Unbeatable for the price.

For the price of this mic, it is unbeatable. It is to be best used with a mic
preamp, and for micing guitar cabinets and snares. Even though it has other
applications. I own two of these, and I have found them to be a studio standard.
The only thing is that I wish it was more durable. The mics head doesnt seem as
sturdy as the body. Excellent mic! You cant go wrong with it.

To be really honest with you, Im not a big fan of Shures - so, Ive always used
AKGs or Sennheisers on my practice and home studios. HOWEVER, I must confess
that if you are looking for a mic to record electric guitars and snare drums, it
is just UNBEATABLE, also considering what you can get on this price range.
