The Gibson J-45 is already an absolute classic and is now finally built with a cutaway. This means the J-45 Cutaway gives excellent access to the higher registers, as well as providing powerful mids and defined heights that make it ideal for song accompaniment and flatpicking. Last but not least, an L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup also enables vivid performances and recordings in studio quality.
Equipped with a solid mahogany back and sides in combination with a solid Sitka spruce top, this classic produces warm and assertive midrange, coupled with fine silvery highs and balanced basses. The J-45 enjoys great popularity with blues musicians and fingerstyle players. Several bindings in the top and body cavities give the body of the J-45 clear contours and a noble appearance.
The J-45 Cutaway 2018 comes with an active L.R. Baggs Element VTC system, which is characterized by fidelity and high dynamic range. An inconspicuous knurled potentiometer on the sound hole controls the volume and tone. Recording or amplification in live situations is child's play and makes the J-45 the ideal companion on stage and in the studio.
