The Stromberg Monterey Flame Top Vintage Sunburst continues the tradition of the first early archtop guitars of the big band era and follows the high standards of the legendary role models. The slim guitar in semi-hollow construction provides warm acoustic character thanks to the sophisticated top construction, while two Amber Classic Hot and Classic Rock humbuckers are responsible for the electrical sound conversion. The Monterey is completed by a Schaller GTM bridge and an STP tailpiece for versatile adjustment options and sustain-rich sounds.
Jazz Box in Semi-Hollow Construction
The body construction of the Monterey combines the full and round acoustic sound of classic hollow body models with the small width of the sides of agile semi-hollows and offers a sound image with strong character and at the same time pleasant playability in all positions. Back, sides and top of the Stromberg Monterey are completely made of maple, following the originals, while the massive centre block on higher gain settings prevents unwanted feedback.
Amber Classic Humbucker
2x Amber Classic humbuckers are used in the Stromberg Monterey. The double spools of the German boutique winder Wolfgang Damm give the Semi-Hollow a powerful and flexible sound. Vocal leads and warm chords are the profession of classic rock on the neck, while the bridge with the slightly hotter wrapped Classic Hot can also be a bit steamier.
