Ozone 8 Advanced EDU from iZotope is a practical and very powerful tool that is used in mastering. This is a discounted EDU version for students and faculties in the audio sector. Not only the elegant and intuitive design, but also the improved workflow and the integrated mastering processors make it an all-rounder on a high level. Available are Imager-, Maximizer-, EQ-, Dynamic EQ-, Dynamics-, Exciter- and Vintage Limiter modules, which all come with enough parameters for every imaginable situation. Among the new features are performance improvements, e.g. track referencing, with which you can easily make A/B comparisons with other tracks, or the Master Assistant, which analyzes incoming signals with its algorithm and provides mastering suggestions for streaming, CD and reference applications.
Ozone has long been a convincing choice with its flexible editing options, the EQ with Mid/Side function, its various limiter algorithms, various analyzers, detailed metering and much more! The Ozone 8 Advanced version brings some improvements and features that are intended to help the user. In addition to seamless communication with Neutron (click here for more information), the Mastering Suite also delivers new features such as the Master Assistant, Track Referencing, Tonal Balance Control and Spectral Shaper!
This unique tool has been fed with information from countless well-known tracks from recent years, so that it can work with various comparison models. This allows you to compare your own material with analysis data from pieces of music of the same genre and adjust it manually thanks to the integrated EQ. The visual representation helps to reach the target value - everything is intuitive, clear and fast. Of course, you can also use your own track masters as a guide and integrate them.
New to Ozone 8 EDU is the Master Assistant, which is able to analyze audio files and provide mastering suggestions. Many aspects are considered in order to provide a professional starting point for mastering. Thus, the intensity of the "intervention" can be determined or selected for which medium / which situation is currently being produced (streaming, CD or reference). An intelligent algorithm changes EQ, Maximizer and Dynamics, while you can intervene at any time and optimize as desired. The Master Assistant is also able to search for comparison values from other audio files and apply them to its own mix.
With the Spectral Shaper, certain frequency ranges can be "defused" so that a more balanced sound image is created. This is especially useful for hi-hats, harsh vocals, energetic percussion parts and frequencies in general, which sometimes stand out too much. Standard parameters like Threshold, Attack and Release, as well as the intensity (light, medium, heavy) and "Tone" are adjustable here.
A/B comparison made easy - Ozon 8 EDU's track referencing allows you to compare up to 10 tracks in order to make the right adjustments to your own audio material. Ozone 8 EDU automatically detects different song parts such as verses and refrains, so you get the result faster.
