Aphex hereby delivers an exciter suitable for a range of applications in areas such as broadcasting, live sound, post production and studio. The patented technology allows improvements to be made to the audio signal, with more presence, clarity, higher perceived loudness, improved detail perception - including bass - and extended low-end. Clubs, concert halls, arenas, airports, musician & DJ rigs, and houses of worship all benefit from the unmatched sound that can be shaped at will via Tune, Harmonics, and Mix controls. Similar to an EQ, frequency specific effects can be realized with the difference that the harmonic processing does not affect the output volume - the result is a clear and balanced sound.
The Aurale Exciter was first designed for studios and quickly became a favorite, so that the special sound can be heard on numerous records. From vocals, electronic or acoustic instruments to exotics, every recording gets a unique stamp with the unmistakable Aphex sound. From rock to jazz bishin to classical music, no genre is spared that the Exciter can't connect with. Even TV and film post production studios around the world turn to the sound to "spruce it up".
Here, the focus is clearly on speech. Clarity and intelligibility are the order of the day, and that's exactly what Aphex's Exciter delivers. In live and web streaming, definition and dimension are added, as these aspects often suffer from today's compression in Internet audio.
In FoH, the Exciter can make individual players stand out on stage or even improve the entire mix, which is difficult to get a handle on due to different acoustic conditions and constantly changing locations. But also in-ear mixes and monitoring applications benefit from the Exciter by creating more transparency without having to turn up the volume to dangerous levels.
Fixed installations can also bring their problems, as the space plays an important role in terms of sound. Aphex's Exciter delivers enough presence and clarity here as well to provide the listener with a better listening experience. The targeted processing of the frequency ranges can work wonders.
Great unit. Well made and impressive enhancer for a multitude of different purposes. Ignore the neigh-sayers that put down the sound of this box. It really is great. I make EDM and it give whatever you put through it more oomph and greater presence and sparkle on the high end that EQ alone does not provide.
Of course you can overdo the effect, but that's just like anything else. The best way to use it is to dial in where you think it sounds good, then dial it back a notch and you'll end up with a noticeable presence of the effected sound in the mix.
