The Avid S6 offers intuitive and comprehensive mixing workflows with outstanding ergonomics. The Avid S6 has a fully modular design, allowing you to build a customised system using a range of fader, control, processing and display modules. In the master section, optional modules for post-production and immersive audio can be added (identified by the prefix ‘Master-’ in the module name). The Avid S6 can be scaled both horizontally and vertically, allowing it to grow in line with your budget and requirements. As the modules are connected internally via LAN, they can also be integrated into bespoke or custom-built studio furniture solutions. It is also possible, in some cases, to retrofit old analogue studio mixing consoles, transforming them into a hybrid system comprising analogue hardware and a digital controller. The S6’s modular system leaves nothing to be desired in this regard.
The workflows when working with the Avid S6 are just as flexible as the hardware configuration itself. Out of 100 people working on an S6, all 100 are likely to work in completely different ways. This is not only down to the S6’s many customisable buttons and soft keys, but also to the ergonomically and intuitively arranged controls that are already in place. ‘Many roads lead to Rome’ is the key phrase here, and that’s no coincidence, given that the S6 has to meet the highest workflow demands in music, television and video production, where time is always money. This means that even complex, multi-step editing processes can be programmed at the touch of a button, saving a great deal of time in post-production. The possibilities for tailoring the hardware, software and controls precisely to your own needs are virtually endless, allowing you to optimise workflows to such an extent that they can be completed in a fraction of the time it would take without the controller.
