Casio CT-S300 keyboard

I'm very much a beginner. I had a cheaper keyboard but had to sell that as I was moving country so this is my second keyboard. This is a massive improvement over what I had previously. The keys are really nice and don't feel cheap, while they're not weighted the velocity sensitivity makes a real difference. There are a lot of sounds I'm personally only interested in the piano sounds of which there are 12 but I've explored a lot of the other sounds and they are all mostly very nice. The speakers are decent which is surprising given how small the keyboard is. As a package it's light, compact and the handle is very useful. It's ability to connect to the computer is really nice as I hope to make my own music someday so will keep this in lieu of getting a midi-controller when it's time to upgrade.

While the keyboard has a sustain button, I would recommend purchasing a sustain pedal to go with it, it makes a big difference when you're playing.

I think for me and where I am with my playing this is the perfect keyboard, while there are cheaper keyboards, I just don't think it's worth it to go too cheap, you'll only end up paying more for it in the long run with the amount of frustration you'll feel. With this keyboard I look forward to playing it, in addition to whatever I'm practicing that day.

Overall I really recommend this for beginners and people with issues with space in their home for large keyboards (you shouldn't have any problems putting this under a bed or in a wardrobe).

All advice for new players is to get something with 88 keys and weighted hammers, which is costly. This keyboard is a good compromise for anyone looking to start with a less expensive option.

I ordered this product from Ireland and it was delivered with European plug. There was no clear sign on the webpage nor advise that shipment will be delivered with different plug.

I have a room full of pro gear, but wanted a portable I could practice on/jam ideas.Got midi so I can hook up to DAW on iPad (usb adapter required) or laptop DAW, can take audio output from iPad or audio interface and plug into aux input on this keyboard to output through speakers. Great for knocking ideas together in the garden. It’s light, and the integral handle makes it easy to lug around the house. Was worried the speakers might not be that great with audio inputted, but it’s well adequate for my needs. It does exactly what I wanted it to at a reasonable cost.
