The Sonnet Echo II DV Rackmount Thunderbolt 5 PCIe Card System brings the full power of the Echo II DV module from the desktop directly into the rack. Designed for broadcast, post-production, DIT setups and technical control rooms, wherever PCIe cards need to be securely, permanently and cleanly housed in the rack. The heart of the system is the same Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 module that is used in the desktop system. Performance and functionality therefore remain identical, only the housing is consistently designed for professional rack operation.
Inside, the familiar Echo II DV module works with two full PCIe 4.0 slots, each connected via its own Thunderbolt 5 interface. Each slot has its own full PCIe bandwidth of up to 6000 MB per second. No shared bandwidth, no compromises. Ideal for two DV I O cards, capture solutions, audio DSP systems or fast PCIe storage and network cards in continuous operation.

The rackmount system allows the parallel operation of two bandwidth-hungry PCIe cards with stable performance. Each card behaves as if it were installed directly in the computer. In addition, the two slots can be connected independently of each other to two different computers. Practical for shared studios, mobile racks or redundant workflows.
For computers with two Thunderbolt 5 ports with their own PCIe bus, each side is connected separately and delivers maximum performance per card. If only one Thunderbolt or USB4 port is available, the two Thunderbolt interfaces can be looped through internally. The entire rack then runs via a single cable to the computer.
The system also remains pleasantly quiet in the rack. Two temperature-controlled Noctua fans ensure reliable cooling at a noise level of around 17 dBA. This makes the Echo II DV Rackmount ideal for noise-sensitive environments such as control rooms, editing suites or OB vans.

The integrated 400 watt power supply unit supplies even powerful PCIe cards safely and stably. An additional 75 watt PCIe power connection is available per slot at. The system switches on and off automatically with the connected computer, without the need for a power switch.
The Echo II DV rackmount sits in a sturdy 2U steel housing, designed for tough everyday studio and touring use. The housing also offers space for an optional additional Sonnet expansion module. This allows the rack to be expanded in a versatile manner without wasting additional space.
In addition to the PCIe connection, further Thunderbolt ports are available for peripherals. These can be used to connect additional Thunderbolt devices, fast USB drives or displays directly to the rack. Bus power for connected devices ensures a tidy setup without additional power supply units.
