Paired this head with my Zilla Cabs 2 x 12 and the sound quality and versatility is excellent. I have 4 well known valve amps, but I find that the Katana is more useful for home playing and practice, mainly because it's easier to get good tones from it at home volumes. It's handy having the Boss effects built in, certainly some of my dedicated pedals sound better but for home practice and recording, the Katana is a simpler plug and play solution.
This is a great example of something that conforms to the 80/20 rule, if it does 80% of what I need, why waste time chasing down that other 20%? In fact, I'd say it's more like 90/10 in this case, the Katana MkII is a a great Swiss Army Knife of an amp.
