The EMG 81-7 Humbucker Pickup is based on the popular EMG81 pickup, but specifically for use in 7-String guitars. The pickup utilises powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils to produce a detailed tone with incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. When used in the bridge, this pickup will make your lead playing cut through the densest mixes. It is easily installed with the included EMG solderless wiring kit.

As for the Emg pickup I purchased.
I've always been a massive fan of the Emg tone, I know it's not for everyone, but I love it.
I wanted an EMG-81 on a 7-string, but the 7-stringer came with passives and I did not feel like going through the trouble of rerouting the guitar. This fits right in. Other than that, it is an EMG-81 and does what an 81 does best.
