J & D JB Plus NaturalA few years ago I bought the J&D 1975 bass in green - can’t fault it, it played better than a Squier 77 which I used to own. However my newly purchased JB Plus is a real let down. It looks and sounds great but the neck is absolute garbage. Severely sharp fret edges, insane amount of fret buzz/dead spots. It’s since had a complete set up and fret dress but something’s still not right as it buzzes like crazy on the low E. I would have sent it back but because I’ve worked on it I’m now stuck with it. Maybe I was just unlucky but the truth is there are many basses I’ve owned, a lot cheaper than this one, and played far better.
Really love the tones fity the addition if the middle humbucker! Jazz tones alone give my Fender a run for its money. I don't care for the clear scratchplate (should be black!) and there were some sharp fret edges but overall value is really good!
