With the Squier FSR Classic Vibe '60s Jazzmaster LRL Surf Green Squier presents an electric guitar with classic specs of the sixties.
Two Fender-designed Alnico single-coils with a wide coil body are used to produce the characterful sound of the popular offset design in neck and bridge position. Both pickups are naturally switched via separate Rhythm and Lead circuits with separate Volume and Tone controls.
The bolt-on maple neck, meanwhile, features a slim C-profile and a modern 9.5" radius to specifically accommodate modern playing techniques. Furthermore, the Squier Classic Vibe '60s Jazzmaster features a traditional floating tremolo system with a 6-saddle vintage-style bridge, while aged pot knobs and a tinted gloss neck finish provide a neat old-school look.
Really very nice, but I had to do a pretty thorough set up. Neck shim, bridge height, intonation, fret smoothing/polishing and the fretboard was super dry so I oiled it. Not complaining though cos I love it now.
As far as bargain for your buck, you shouldn't look further than this Jazzmaster. I recently upgraded from my first guitar, a Squier Bullet Strat, and was able to make do with it. But after buying this bad boy my whole playing has changed. The tones are unbelievably clean and warm, and the sound you get with some distortion is just out of this world. The tremolo rig is perfect as well and the guitar stays in tune surprisingly well even when I put a lot of pressure on the strings.
I highly recommend this guitar as an upgrade from your first or even as your first guitar because I'm certain it would play amazingly for years.
