The Wittner 813m Metronome with Bell (Walnut) is a classical metronome in pyramid form. The removable front cover protects the pendulum of the metronome during transport. The Wittner 813m has a genuine wooden case, the front of which can be removed to adjust the tempo between the ranges 40-208 beats per minute using the weight. There is an indication of 8x different tempo designations: Largo, Larghetto, Adagio, Andante, Moderato, Allegro, Presto and Prestissimo.
Fundamentals of the Metronome: The metronome is a mechanical or electronic device with the purpose of enabling an even tempo by striking note values (mostly quarter notes). The number set on the metronome indicates the beats per minute, often referred to as bpm. If we assume a 4/4 beat and set the metronome to 60, then a 1/4 note lasts exactly 1 second.
