The Antelope Audio Discrete 8 Oryx Synergy Core is a powerful audio interface. Eight discrete preamps, high-quality AD/DA converters, flexible routing options and integrated real-time effects make it a reliable hub for recording, mixing and hybrid setups. Whether for tape recording, producing or reamping, the Oryx remains transparent, fast and musical.

Clear sound from source to monitor

The Discrete 8 Oryx SC uses the latest converters from Antelope Audio with up to 130 dB dynamic range at the monitor outputs, combined with the company's own 64-bit AFC clocking technology. The result is an open stereo image with stable localization and clean depth gradation. Fine details are retained, transients are precise and even complex sessions remain clear.

Eight discrete Preamps for every type of signal

The eight discrete microphone preamps, each with a 6-transistor design, deliver up to 75 dB gain and operate with extremely low noise. They are equally suitable for dynamic microphones, sensitive ribbons, condensers or line signals. Two inputs can also be used as Hi-Z, ideal for guitar or Bass directly into the interface. The sound image remains neutral and controlled, with enough headroom for loud sources.

Real-time effects without noticeable latency

Thanks to Synergy Core, compressors, EQs, guitar amps and other effects run directly on the hardware. Two DSPs and an FPGA take care of the calculations, reducing the load on the computer and allowing musicians to hear effects without delay when recording. 37 effects are already included, and more can be added optionally. Especially when recording vocals or guitars at Tracking, working with these effects feels very direct.

Synergy Core Control Software

Monitoring that takes musicians seriously

Four independent headphone outputs allow individual mixes for each band member. The integrated X-Feed function alleviates the typical left-right feeling of headphones and simulates listening to loudspeakers. Talkback, dim function and presets are controlled via the software and can optionally be triggered directly via footswitch, which noticeably speeds up sessions.

Maximum freedom for hybrid setups

With 26 inputs and 38 outputs simultaneously, DC-coupled line outputs, reamp outputs, ADAT, S/PDIF and word clock, the Discrete 8 Oryx can be easily integrated into larger studios. Synths, outboard, guitar amps and DAW mesh seamlessly. The virtual patchbay from Antelope Audio ensures that even complex routings remain clear and can be adjusted quickly.
