Staying true to their reputation for top-quality craftsmanship, Mayones uses premium tonewoods, including a Sapele body with a flamed poplar top and a five-piece Wenge-Amaranth neck with an ebony fretboard. At the amp, the pairing of Seymour Duncan Sentient and Nazgul humbuckers delivers scorching modern metal tones, tight and powerful even in deep drop tunings. Not to mention, the Mayones Hydra Elite 6 Headless Guitar is equipped with six individual ABM fine-tuning bridges and a proprietary S-CLAMP Headpiece.
Built on a compact headless design without a headstock, the Mayones Hydra Elite impresses not only with its choice of woods but also with its extremely agile playability. The body is made from Sapele, topped with an intensely figured flamed poplar top, while the six-bolt neck is crafted from a five-piece combination of Purpleheart and features an ebony fretboard. The compact body design with deep cutaways and the slim "D"-shaped neck profile ensures unhindered playability across all 24 stainless steel frets. Fluorescent Luminlay side dots make fret positions clearly visible in low light.
The Mayones Hydra Elite 6 features the tried-and-true combination of Seymour Duncan Nazgul and Sentient humbuckers, a modern classic for powerful metal tones. The Seymour Duncan Nazgul in the bridge position, equipped with a ceramic magnet, delivers articulate sound with a tight low-end foundation and broad mids and highs, providing cutting power even in the lowest drop tunings. The Seymour Duncan Sentient in the neck position, with an Alnico-V magnet, offers a balanced tone perfect for both shimmering cleans and singing leads. Additionally, a push/pull switch on the volume knob activates the coil split, adding authentic single-coil tones to the Hydra Elite’s tonal arsenal.
To complete the setup, Mayones Hydra Elite 6 is equipped with high-end hardware. The ABM 3801 individual fine-tuning bridges provide precise adjustments for both intonation and string height, ensuring reliable tuning stability. Behind the GraphTech Black TUSQ nut, the proprietary Mayones S-CLAMP Headpiece made of brass secures the strings at the neck end, further enhancing tuning precision and overall stability.
