A particularly effective piece is the Sound Study Modular AirWAV, a virtual radio module that behaves similarly to a radio. The module was designed for the Eurorack format. The AirWAV was designed as a source of random audio signals and is therefore only conditionally comparable to a sampler. The module works with a number of banks and stations stored on an external SD card. The module can be used, for example, to accompany the composition with radio-like sound and noise effects, creating a certain radio feeling. Please note: the SD card for the Sound Study Modular AirWAV must be purchased separately.
An important component of the Sound Study Modular AirWAV is the SD card and its content, which has a significant influence on the sound character. Up to 16 banks with a maximum of 75 files each can be stored on the card. The total number of audio files should not exceed 300. Each of the 16 banks contains different stations, which are stored as .raw audio files on the SD card. The appropriate bank is selected by pressing the reset button and the station by turning the station control knob or a voltage signal.
