The Yamaha YDP-146 is a classic digital piano from the ARIUS series and offers a successful combination of an authentic piano playing feel, high-quality Yamaha grand piano sound and practical practice functions. The GHS keyboard with Graded Hammer Standard weighting replicates the feel of an acoustic piano: the keys feel heavier in the bass range and lighter in the treble range. Matt black key surfaces enhance the playing experience, whilst the improved sensor technology reliably captures subtle nuances of touch. This allows dynamics, articulation and musical expression to be developed effectively right from the very first practice sessions.

The sound is based on samples from the Yamaha CFX concert grand piano. The sound is clear, balanced and harmoniously tuned across the entire range. VRM Lite enhances the sound with natural resonances, whilst the 192-note polyphony provides ample headroom even when using the pedals and in fuller arrangements. In addition , 10 tone colours, four reverb types, a dual function and a duo mode are available. The Yamaha YDP-146 supports modern practice with digital features. Compatible mobile devices can be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth Audio and Bluetooth MIDI, for example to play songs or use music apps. The Smart Pianist app simplifies operation, displays sheet music and offers additional practice and learning functions. A built-in 2-track recorder, 50 classic preset songs and 303 lesson songs help to track progress and build up a repertoire.
