With the Gibson 1958 Korina Flying V Reissue Natural Black pickguard the Gibson Custom Shop sends an authentic replica of the first Flying V, of which only 81 units left the factory in Kalamazoo in 1958. In-depth scans of original Vintage Flying Vs provide the basis for a precise reproduction of the futuristic guitar design with which the legendary Gibson president Ted McCarty was ahead of his time, while Korina wood promises a special resonance guitar. With Gibson custombucker pickups, 1958 Korina Flying V delivers an authentic Vintage-Sound in the style of the legendary PAF humbuckers that remains the benchmark for all rock and blues pickups today. The neck and body of the '58 Reissue Flying V are made of Korina and glued with Hide Glue.
Historically correct construction and shapes
In order to reproduce the groundbreaking shapes of the '58 Flying V as accurately as possible, he had Gibson Custom Shop detailed scans of the best originals from the period. The use of lightweight Korina wood and Hide Glue also promises the coveted vintage sound with resonant emphasis on the mids. The precisely reproduced "1958 Flying V" neck profile and VOS nitrocellulose finish with Vintage patina also promise the feel and feel of original Flying V. Like the Fifties originals, a rubber strip embedded in the lower rib prevents the guitar from slipping when played seated.
Custombucker pickups and a hand-wired circuit with "Phone Book" capacitors promise authentic vintage PAF sounds.

As pickup for the 1958 Korina Flying V Reissue chooses the Gibson Custom Shop two Gibson custombuckers. With unwaxed coils and the correct Alnico mix, the humbuckers deliver absolutely authentic Vintage sounds in the PAF style, which with their airy response and vocal midrange provide the perfect basis for creamy overdrive tones. But also in the clean channel the pickups convince with an excellent and warm sound. The pickups are controlled via a traditional 3-way circuit, which with CTS Vintage Taper Pots and historically correct "Phone Book" capacitors allows the precise adjustment of the sound.
Historically correct Kluson Single Ring tuners with celluloid wings promise accurate and stable tuning of Gibson's 1958 Flying V Reissue.
Aged Gold Hardware
Last but not least, the 1958 Korina Flying V Reissue electric guitar is completed by historically accurate Hardware in an appealing Aged Gold finish. Developed under the aegis of visionary Gibson president Ted McCarty, the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge ensures precise intonation and string action adjustment. As with the original, the strings pass behind the bridge through the body and a lacquered brass trim plate. The distinctive headstock also features Kluson "Single Ring" tuners with celluloid vanes for high precision when tuning the electric guitar.
