Humble Audio's Quad Operator is a four-operator digital quad oscillator that masters linear FM synthesis. The surface immediately scores with the "one control per function" principle and looks very tidy. Any FM algorithm can be implemented via the modulation matrix. This also makes classic Yamaha DX-7 sounds possible.
High functionality
Each of the four operators has variable waveforms, a virtual VCA to modulate the level, and can be decoupled from tracking. Due to the open structure, each operator is individually accessible and usable. In LFO mode, the overall tuning is significantly reduced, transforming the Quad Operator into a complex modulator source for other modules. Using the AR FM input, external (audio) signals can be fed into the module as a modulator.
Expandable
With the optionally available Algo Expander, the Quad Operator can be expanded with functions such as memory locations, live mode and crossfader.
