With the Wampler Gearbox Andy Wood Signature Overdrive, effects genius Brian Wampler tailors a particularly flexible effects pedal to the most influential and versatile guitarist of his generation. Two separate channels based on Wampler's Tumnus and Pinnacle pedals, modified to Wood's taste, promise a particularly wide sound spectrum from transparent crunch to dynamic overdrive to a singing Brown sound. In addition, the Wampler Gearbox Andy Wood Signature Overdrive convinces with a flexible signal routing.
Channel 1 of the Wampler Gearbox is based on the popular Wampler Tumnus, whose circuitry has been modified according to Wood's wishes. Channel 1's ultra-transparent drive can be used to boost an amp, stacked with other overdrive and distortion pedals, or as a standalone effect with lively dynamics. To adjust the sound, Channel 1 of the Gearbox has controls for Gain, Tone and Level.
In Channel 2 of the Wampler Gearbox, the Wampler Pinnacle 's circuitry, also reworked according to Andy Wood's ideas, provides an extremely juicy brown sound. While the gain control is responsible for the intensity of the distortion in Channel 2, the 3-band tone control allows for precise adjustment of the timbre. In addition, the second channel of the gearbox has an adjustable noise gate, which prevents unwanted noise during breaks in the performance.
Last but not least, the Wampler Gearbox Andy Wood Signature Overdrive features flexible signal routing to help you find the perfect guitar tone. The toggle switch allows you to change the internal order of Channel 1 and Channel 2, stacking the two overdrives in different ways. Additional input and output jacks also allow you to use Channel 1 and Channel 2 as completely independent effects pedals, or to add additional external effects to the signal path.
