With the Fender Limited Edition Eric Clapton 30th Anniversary Stratocaster, the British blues virtuoso and the Fender Custom Shop celebrate the 30th anniversary of their jointly developed Signature electric guitar. Wrapped in a black Journeyman Relic nitrocellulose finish, the guitar brings back memories of Clapton's legendary "Blackie", while three Fender Vintage Noiseless single coils together with TBX Tone Control and active Mid-Boost deliver variable blues and blues rock sounds. In addition, the Fender 30th Anniversary Clapton Strat has an alder body and a bolted maple neck in the familiar "Soft V" profile, while hardware in the form of the classic, blocked synchronized tremolo and precise vintage-style tuners complete the electric guitar in style.
For the construction of the Fender 30th Anniversary Eric Clapton Strat, the Fender Custom Shop relies on traditional construction and excellent woods. Accordingly, the body is made of carefully selected alder, while the neck is made of riftsawn maple. The "Contour Body" with its flowing shape lies comfortably on the player, while the "Soft V" neck profile and the 9.5" measuring fretboard radius are particularly suited to the classic playing techniques of blues and rock.
The electric sound conversion of the Fender Limited Edition Eric Clapton 30th Anniversary Strat is done as usual by three Fender Vintage Noiseless Single Coil Pickups, which deliver the typical bell-like Strat sound without disturbing background noise. The Fender TBX Tone Control is available for adjusting the sound. The clever use of a mid-rastered double potentiometer allows the usual damping of treble as well as the accentuation of bass and treble. In addition, there is an active Mid-Boost on board, which raises the mid-range frequencies by up to 25 dB and elicits a particularly creamy overdrive from the guitar amplifier.
Last but not least the Fender Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Eric Clapton Stratocaster convinces with a stylish hardware equipment according to Clapton's wishes. As a bridge a Fender Synchronized Tremolo is used, which is fixed in the spring chamber by a wooden block like Clapton's personal guitars and thus supports a direct sound development. Behind the bone saddle, Fender vintage-style tuners on the headstock ensure precise and stable tuning.
