With the Storm drums, Mapex is offering an entry level series with great features. These drums do not have to hide from much more expensive series.
New features make it easier for beginners to achieve a professional drum sound. Looks wise, the Mapex Storm drums also have a lot to offer with new finishes and hardware options. True to the motto "more drums for your money", the Mapex Storm drums will impress you with both looks and sound.
Just like the high-end Saturn series, the Storm drums also feature the SONIClear bearing edges. The extremely round edge maximizes the head to shell contact and therefore achieves a better resonance of the drum shell. The result is a very warm, focused and powerful sound and the SONIClear bearing edge makes tuning much easier as well.
The toms of the Storm drums come in the popular "flat sizes", which means the shells are shorter than conventional drums. This feature results in a very defined sound with a lot of attack. The poplar wood provides nice harmonics with solid mix which gives you a cutting sound in the band mix.
All Storm kits come with a comprehensive hardware set. The cymbals feature double braced legs, 3 single pipes and allow a very flexible positioning of your cymbals. All stands come with a new, concave leg design which makes it much easier to integrate the stands into your setup. All hardware components of the Storm series are also separately available. You can choose from chrome or coated black.
