Instead of different virtual rooms, RIME offers a single, high-precision reference room: the reliable "single source or truth" for immersive audio monitoring.

An immersive reference room - optimized for NDH headphones

RIME has been consistently tuned to the acoustic properties of the Neumann NDH 20 and NDH 30. These precisely manufactured headphones guarantee a reliable, coloration-free sound image with razor-sharp spatial imaging. AMBEO's algorithms, renowned for their detail and realism, provide an immersive experience on par with traditional speaker systems, without the need for a physical 3D setup.

Development with Neumann technology - from room to plugin

RIME's virtual reference room is based on a real-life studio fully equipped with Neumann technology. An immersive loudspeaker setup from the KH series, fine-tuned with the MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment including multichannel extension, forms the basis. The spatial sound image was recorded binaurally with the legendary KU 100 artificial head and transmitted via the MT 48 audio interface with excellent Preamps and high-resolution converter technology. This consistent high-end setup guarantees an authentic and linear monitoring environment, regardless of the production location.

Intuitive use - versatile and realistic

RIME works as a VST3, AU and AAX plugin on macOS and Windows 10 or higher. It is compatible with all common DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper and Pyramix. In addition to immersive formats, RIME is also suitable for stereo monitoring and enables a speaker-like listening experience without the typical in-head localization of headphones. This allows mixes to be efficiently checked for compatibility with classic loudspeaker systems.

For added authenticity, RIME supports OSC-compatible head-tracking systems. The sound environment reacts dynamically to head movements, creating an even more realistic sense of space and direction.
