In addition to the basswood body with its chic maple top, the guitar is equipped with a roasted maple neck for unhindered playability, while specially developed Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups with dyna-MIX9 circuitry ensure versatile sounds with lively articulation. The IBANEZ Premium AZ224F-BI Black Ice guitar also features a Gotoh T1502 tremolo and Gotoh H.A.P. Magnum Lock tuners.
For the ergonomically designed body of the Ibanez AZ224F, Ibanez chooses American basswood and a top made of intensely figured maple, with wide cut cutaways and the "Super All Access Neck Joint" making even the highest frets easily accessible. The absolute highlight of the Ibanez AZ224 is without a doubt the bolted neck made of Roasted Maple. The thermal treatment in a vacuum makes the maple more resonant and insensitive to climatic changes. The medium-strong "AZ" profile lies comfortably in the hand, so that between the 22 stainless steel frets in jumbo format every song, no matter how complex, can be played comfortably. Fluorescent side dots allow playing on dark stages.

The two Seymour Duncan Hyperion single coils installed in the neck and middle position and the Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbucker placed on the bridge convince with a moderately increased output and a balanced reproduction of all frequencies, so that in connection with the lively dynamics expressive electric guitar playing is optimally supported. The pickups are selected in familiar combinations using the 5-way blade switch, while additional options can be called up thanks to the dyna-MIX9 circuitry. After pressing the "Alter" switch, not only the serial connection of both single coils is available, but also the simultaneous operation of all pickups.
Last but not least, the Ibanez Prestige AZ224F-BI Black Ice guitar convinces with its first-class hardware equipment. The Gotoh T1502 tremolo, specially developed for the Ibanez Premium AZ series, is used as the bridge. It is equipped with stainless steel riders to enhance the sound. With string spacing of 10.5 mm, it also supports optimum striking technique. At the headstock, the strings are also guided via a GraphTech saddle to the Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. tuners, whose height-adjustable winding axes guarantee optimum string pressure.
