The
Taylor T5z Pro Gaslamp Black
combines the best features of electric and acoustic guitars in a handy instrument that provides the right sound for almost any style of music. The guitar maker from El Cajon uses a Sapele body with generous resonance chambers, which in combination with the stylish maple top contributes the warm acoustic component to the sound. Attached using the innovative "T Lock" method, the bolted Sapele neck lies comfortably in the hand. While the Taylor Dynamic Body Sensor on the amplifier provides the acoustic sound, two Taylor Samarium/Cobalt Humbuckers deliver typical electric guitar sounds. The combination of a 5-way circuit and an active preamp allows the perfect tuning of the sound. Last but not least, the Taylor T5z Pro features an ebony bridge with bone inlay and precise Taylor die-cast tuners.
In designing the Taylor T5z Pro Gaslamp Black, Taylor Guitars' luthiers combine the sound characteristics of the acoustic guitar with the nimble handling of the electric guitar. Accordingly, the Taylor T5z has a slim sapele body with generous resonance chambers that support the acoustic timbre. A chic maple top with elegantly designed F-holes closes the resonance chambers. Fastened bombproof with only one screw, the "T Lock" sapele neck with its slim profile and the ebony fingerboard in a 12" radius lies comfortably in the hand, so that optimal playing characteristics are guaranteed.
For a particularly variable sound spectrum that delivers both acoustic and electric guitar sounds, Taylor equips the T5z Pro Gaslamp Black with two pickup systems and an active preamp. The Dynamic Body Transducer captures the acoustic timbre in detail, while two Samarium/Cobalt pickups deliver powerful electro sounds. The 5-way blade switch in the upper frame calls up the pickups in different combinations, so that the basis for the desired sound is quickly found. There is also an active preamp with 2-band tone control for precise adjustment of the sound.
Last but not least, the Taylor T5z has a high quality hardware equipment that contributes significantly to the distinctive sound character of the guitar. Accordingly, an acoustic guitar bridge made of ebony is used on the body, which supports the acoustic sound component with a compensated bone bridge inlay. Also made of bone is the saddle behind which Taylor Die-Cast tunersprovide precise and stable tuning of the T5z Pro.
