The Fieldfare Audio Revolt Overdrive is a fresh take on the classic bright green overdrive, standing out with its particularly transparent soft clipping. Like the original, this effect pedal from the young Rhineland-based manufacturer serves as a versatile all-purpose tool, perfect for everything from creamy blues crunch to thickening juicy high-gain tones. The Revolt sticks to the classic three-knob layout of the original with controls for level, gain, and tone. It also offers some interesting additional features: the ‘Hi-Cut’ control tames overly harsh highs when needed, while ‘Lo-Push’ adjusts the pedal’s bass response. An open/compress button allows switching the internal voltage from 9 volts to 18 volts, providing extra clean headroom. Finally, the relay-based intelligent True Bypass Switch (RITB) adds practical functions such as a momentary mode and easier integration into loop switcher systems.
