The aggressive exterior of the Jackson X Series Kelly hides an elaborate neck-thru construction, which is the basis for a differentiated, powerful sound. Accordingly, the full neck is made of maple and reinforced with graphite inlays, while the body wings are made of lime and wear a chic mahogany top. The flat "Speed Neck" profile lies comfortably in the hand, so that on the rosewood fingerboard with compound radius any reef or solo, no matter how fast, comes out of your fingers with playful ease.
The Jackson X Series Kelly KEXT Natural Mahogany uses two Jackson High Output humbuckers as pickups, which have earned themselves a worldwide fan base with their brute metal sound for a reason. The bridge humbucker puts a lot of steam into the amplifier and delivers a tight, fast-responding sound that penetrates every riff or solo with sharply focused mids and biting highs in the band sound. The neck humbucker works more moderately, but no less forcefully and tempts with his warm voice and the creamy sustain to endless solulation.
As a classically designed rock and metal guitar, the Jackson X Series Kelly also offers a fixed bridge in the form of the Tune-O-Matic Bridge and Stopbar tailpiece, which ensures an exact adjustment of intonation and string position even in popular drop tunings.
