You decide which effects this pedal features! With the META FX, MOOER is introducing a new effects pedal that boasts an exciting concept: this stereo multi-FX pedal is based on an interchangeable firmware platform that can be swapped out as required. How does it work? Various effect types can be loaded onto the pedal via its USB-C interface. Depending on the software installed, the META FX transforms into a reverb, delay or modulation pedal, each offering an extensive selection of high-quality algorithms. At the same time, MOOER has announced further firmware packages featuring new ‘X Algorithms’, which are set to continuously expand the pedal’s range of functions in future.
The three available firmware families already cover a broad spectrum. The Reverb version offers classic rooms, reverb and spring reverb simulations, as well as modern ambient effects such as Shimmer or Dream. The Delay firmware includes, amongst others, digital, tape, analogue, ping-pong and crystal delays, whilst the Modulation firmware combines chorus, phaser, flanger, vibrato, rotary and numerous other modulation effects. Depending on the firmware, there are more than 20 presets available, which can be conveniently managed via the integrated colour display.
Features include a fully stereo-capable signal path, two footswitches with tap-tempo and infinite sustain functions, as well as handy features such as Kill Dry, Trails and preset management via the MOOER Studio software. The META FX is complemented by a headphone output and a USB-C port for firmware updates and comprehensive backup and restore functions. This makes MOOER’s new multi-effects pedal far more than just a simple effects ‘shaker’; it’s a flexible solution for anyone looking for a large effects library with high-quality sound.
