With the Ovation CS24P-ABLKW Celebrity Traditional, the traditional manufacturer from New Hartford, Connecticut, presents a new model of its Celebrity Traditional series in limited edition. The series convinces especially by a Blackwood top with unique grain as well as its ergonomic Mid-Depth design. These and other characteristics have a positive effect on the sound and playability of the guitar. The instrument is stage-ready thanks to the in-house OP-4CT preamp with integrated tuner, which guarantees great performances.
As usual for the proven Ovation guitars, the CS24P-ABLKW has a body made of Lyrachord. This is a fibreglass-reinforced plastic that has been further developed with attention to its sound. Combined with the mid-depth arching, the result is a warm, voluminous sound that is complemented by rich harmonics and distinctive mids by means of a Blackwood top. Assertiveness and full bass are provided by the Scalloped-X bracing, whose top rail is ground down deeper in the centre. The resulting lower resistance allows the top to resonate better and allows the sound to unfold more freely.
In addition to its positive influence on the sound characteristics of the guitar, the Mid-Depth arching serves a comfortable posture. Due to its curvature, it perfectly adapts to the body and makes long rehearsals, sessions or performances extremely comfortable. The Nato neck with Ovangkol fingerboard also contributes to a pleasant feel. The nut width of 42.8 mm allows a comfortable grip and has the ideal conditions for flatpicking and strumming. Even the high registers are outstandingly playable, as a practical cutaway allows unhindered access to them.
To showcase the guitar's excellent performance on stage, the CS24P-ABLKW is equipped with the Ovation CP-100 slimline pickup with OP-4CT preamp. This allows the guitar's bass, midrange and treble to be ideally adjusted to individual preferences by means of a 3-band equalizer, while the volume can be easily adjusted to the ambient conditions by means of a control. An integrated tuner, which mutes the output signal when activated, also ensures a sound-assured performance. Nothing stands in the way of a successful performance.
An attractive appearance rounds off the guitar, completing its advantageous features. Decisive for its appealing appearance is the top wood used here. The characteristic of Australian Blackwood is its distinctive grain, which was deliberately preserved for this guitar. This gives it a completely natural appearance and makes each specimen unique due to its variations. Thus, the guitar is particularly suitable for all those who, in addition to sound and handling, rely on a discreet yet individual appearance when choosing their instrument.
