The SSL UMD192 is an uncompromisingly powerful digital audio interface designed for live sound, broadcast, and professional studio environments. In a compact half-rack (half-19″) format, it combines Dante, MADI, and USB 3.0 into an extremely flexible system, functioning as an intelligent bidirectional converter between multiple audio formats. For engineers who require high channel counts, maximum reliability, and ultra-low latency, the UMD192 becomes the central hub of demanding professional setups.

With up to 192 simultaneous channels, the UMD192 is built for complex signal routing scenarios. It enables bidirectional conversion between two freely selectable audio formats, while simultaneously splitting the signal to a third format in parallel. Whether deployed in a touring rack, OB van, broadcast facility, or hybrid studio, routing remains transparent, stable, and easy to manage.
The interface integrates Dante AoIP, MADI, and USB 3.0 in a single device.
Dante support includes AES67 and ST 2110, enabling seamless integration into modern IP-based broadcast networks. Dante operates with extremely low latency of just 0.25 ms, ensuring precise synchronization in critical workflows. On the MADI side, six BNC pairs are available, which can operate in redundancy mode as three independent fail-safe MADI connections.
Clocking can be handled flexibly via MADI or Dante, ensuring stable synchronization across complex systems. The front panel provides clear status indicators, intuitive controls, and a lock function to prevent accidental parameter changes. Multiple power supply options, including redundant configurations, ensure reliable operation in mission-critical applications.
The UMD192 is fully Mac compatible, while Windows systems are supported via dedicated SSL drivers. With its combination of high channel density, ultra-low latency, and flexible power options, the interface is ideally suited for demanding production environments where stability, scalability, and reliability are essential.
