Polyphonic Octave Fuzz Modulator with flexible sound and tap tempo
With the SOLID GOLD FX Lysis MKII the Canadian specialists for imaginative guitar effects present the next Generation of their successful Polyphonic Octave Fuzz Modulator. With its sophisticated combination of analog and digital technology, the effect pedal blurs the line between electric guitar and synthesizer and invites you to creative sound experiments.
Polyphonic Octave Fuzz
The heart of the Lysis MKII's clever sound generation is the Octave Fuzz effect, which thanks to the polyphonic Tracking does not shy away from chords. In addition to classic Octave Down voicings, the guitar pedal offers a combination of low and high octaves as well as the extremely massive sounding combination of low octave and fifth.
Flexible modulation filter
The second sound-defining element of the Lysis MKII from Solid Gold FX is the modulation filter, which offers a particularly wide range of settings. While the Wave switch selects between three basic waveforms for the LFO, the eleven-step Mode switch determines their characteristics, so that 33 different sound characters are available. In addition, the Res switch selects the resonance peak of the filter effect.
Tap Tempo, Ramp and Break
A practical detail when setting up the Solid Gold FX Lysis MKII is the tap-tempo function, which allows the speed of the LFO to be perfectly adjusted to the song tempo. In addition to Ramp mode for momentarily speeding up and slowing down the LFO, the effect unit also offers a Break function that stops the LFO completely.
Many features and cool sounds in there. The 4 star rating regarding the sound is because it is a bit dark-sounding, especially in low pass mode. High pass is quite crisp.
Great for songwriting or recording. Maybe in live uses you have to stick to 1 or 2 well known settings because it requires a bit of fiddling to get the right sound. Overall a very good inspiration tool.
