The Gibson SJ-200 is the queen among the Flat tops and one of the most famous western guitars in the world. For the limited 1957 SJ-200 the guitar builders use selected maple wood in the style of the instruments of the fifties and give the Western classic some chic details in the form of solid Gotoh mechanics and further optical refinements.

Gibson's SJ-200 is known for its tight, round bass response and detailed high definition. The striking " HiFi " sound is provided by a solid and thermally aged maple top with an even grain, while the back and sides are made of maple with a light flame. A large part of the ceiling construction is made up of the Scalloped X bracing Traditional , which provides the bracing technique of tapered spruce struts for the stability and sound of classic 14-fret constructions.

Absolute tuning stability and classical Look open-back tuning mechanisms are provided by Grover in the Gold -version. Another classic detail of the 1957 SJ-200 is the Moustache bridge Gibson with a double-row inlay of genuine mother-of-pearl and bone inlay for direct resonance transfer to the body.
