The Mixars QUATTRO is a professional 4-channel DJ mixer for Serato DJ. The robust DJ mixer offers a particularly intuitive layout, so that every DJ can quickly find his way around. Its features include: 4 effects for each channel, an additional 14 effects in the separate effects section, an effect loop to include external effects and a separate fader for the volume of the Serato sampler. In addition, the Mixars QUATTRO is equipped with 16 RGB performance pads and provides 2 USB ports for simultaneous connection of two computers or laptops. A 24-bit sound card for best sound quality is also on board. Furthermore a simple navigation through the Serato music library, loading of titles, control sync and setting as well as a real-time modulation of (roll-)loops is possible. The simultaneous operation of 4 DVS decks in Serato DJ round off the professional feature set of the QUATTRO mixer.
Very good, the firmware was a bit fiddly (make sure you follow the prompt to download Java), after that its a doddle. Good craftsmanship and the gains, EQ knobs remind me of more expensive mixers. The cross fader is not much kop if you are a serious scratcher but it is OK. The upfaders are tight and very good quality. The Quattro will not read Serato DJ but only with Serato DJ Pro, so make sure you log in to download the free one (if you have had previous Rane Serato boxes you get the Serato Pro DJ free).
All in all I like it, and I have used the Pioneers and the Behringer DDM4000 ( I only use mixers for radio). I now do not need a sperate controller for jingles nor for the effects. Use the Serato DJ Pro effects (choose A or B in your effects channels). Takes a little bit of getting used to if you have come off the Pioneer SP1 but you will get the hang of it.
I must say, for the price, this mixer is very good, considering you get the Serato built in plus everything on board. I tried out the Rane, and although it was very good, for that price it did not do anything for me. I would recommend the Rane 2 channel mixers then their 4 channel mixers.
