The Gretsch G5422BDC Electromatic 4-String Semi Acoustic Bass Guitar in Transparent Red is a stylish and powerful short-scale hollow body instrument that has its own unique identity.

The Gretsch G5422BDC Electromatic features a bound double-cutaway five-ply Maple body with dual f-holes that resonates with unbelievable balance and tone.  This is joined by a 30.25” scale Maple neck that is topped with a bound Rosewood fingerboard with hump-block white pearloid inlays.  The shorter-scale of the bass makes for a highly playable instrument that feels like a cross between a standard-scale bass and a 6-string guitar.

The body of the Gretsch G5422BDC Electromatic bass guitar comes equipped with a set of powerful “Black Top” Filter’Tron pickups that are paired with a three-position pickup selector switch, dual volume controls and a master tone control.  This setup allows a huge variety of usable tones to be instantly and easily achieved thanks to its simple design.  Accompanying the pickups is a “G” cutout tailpiece, a Rosewood-based Adjusto-Matic bridge and a set of Gotoh die-cast tuners.
