With the Sandberg California DC PF Tobacco Sunburst Soft Aged, the cult guitar builders from Brunswick have launched a classic T-Style electric guitar that not only delivers classic vintage sounds with two vintage power single-coils, but also conveys the look and feel of an electric guitar that has been played for decades thanks to its elaborately aged finish. Naturally the classic construction with an alder body and bolt-on maple neck is used, whereas reliable hardware in the form of a Sandberg compensation bridge and tuning stable Kluson lockheads complete the Sandberg California DC PF Tobacco Sunburst Soft Aged.
For the construction of the Sandberg California DC, Sandberg relies on the classic T-Style ingredients. Accordingly, the body is made of light alder, whereas the neck, which is attached to the body via four screws, is made of maple and carries a Pau Ferro fretboard. This traditional construction promises a crisp basic sound with the legendary Twang, which makes itself perfectly heard even in the densest band mix. Furthermore the slim "C"-profile lies extremely comfortable in the hand, so that every lick or riff comes off easily.
The electrical sound conversion of the Sandberg California DC PF Tobacco Sunburst Soft Aged is done by two Sandberg Vintage Power single-coils. As the name suggests, these classic single coil pickups deliver a powerful sound with a distinct vintage character, with a vibrant twang that is always audible. A special feature here is the optional serial connection of both pickups, which is activated in the middle position of the blade switch via the push/pull switch in the tone control, and delivers an extremely fat yet transparent and assertive sound.
Last but not least, the Sandberg California DC PF Tobacco Sunburst Soft Aged convinces with its high-quality and reliable hardware equipment. The Sandberg compensation bridge supports the electric guitar's crisp response with its string-routing through the body, whereas three brass double string saddles guarantee a clean intonation of each string thanks to compensated contact surfaces. On the top plate, Kluson lockheads with top-locking function ensure that the electric guitar is tuned precisely and stable.
The Sandberg California DC's Sunburst finish is lovingly handcrafted with subtle traces of aging, giving the electric guitar the character of a frequently played but always carefully treated instrument. This includes, among other things, the hardly avoidable ding and dongs of everyday life as well as slight signs of wear and tear on the exposed edges of the body.
