Built on 40 years of live sound mixing, the Soundcraft Signature 12 mixer combines a great analog control surface with Soundcraft's unparalleled British sound. This compact, powerful mixer is built to run tight and trouble-free all party night.
The mixer uses eight of Soundcraft's proprietary Ghost mic preamps to deliver outstanding audio quality with high headroom, wide dynamic range, and exceptional clarity with minimal noise. The mixer also includes Sapphyre Assymetric EQ, a 3-band EQ that perfectly equalizes every vocal and instrument in a mix with a great sense of musicality.
As for effects, the Soundcraft 12 MTK has integrated Lexicon studio effects like reverb, modulation, delay and many more. Each input channel has dbx limiters. The Signature 12 MTK has standard XLR inputs and switchable Hi-Z inputs that allow direct connection of guitars, basses and other instruments. Three AUX inputs allow media playback from external devices. The multi-track USB audio interface allows you to use any ST / AU / AAX / TDM / RTAS plug-ins and insert those signals into any input channel. This allows studio plug-ins to be integrated into live performances.

The USB return function works great and I am more than confident in claiming that it is the best money I have ever spent on a mixing desk/audio interface!
My old Soundcraft 'Folio' has no built-in reverb, so I 'upgraded' to this 'Signature' 12MTX, which DOES have assorted inbuilt reverbs and delays - and a better selection than Amazon's cheap Depusheng mixer(s).
The real surprise is that the 12MTK (with built-in export to Digital Audio Workstation software like Ableton, and ..with an optional add-in card.. return FROM a DAW into the mix) ..it discovers, and can boost, almost inaudible, or lost, bass from old dynamic mics like my Senn 421 and AKG D25. It gives a whole new usefulness to 'characterful' under-performing old dynamics.
(Oddly, its bass, even when EQ'd down, can be too overpowering and 'muddying' when used with (my) modern-ish condensers and ribbons (sE-R1, sE2200T, sE1a, etc) which I prefer to use with my older Soundcraft.) Apart from that, incoming audio can be extensively 'sculpted' via the Hi, 'frequency-sweep' Mid, and Lo (bass) adjust knobs.
Very flexible inputs - including Hi-Z, if needed, on two jack sockets - but, weirdly (as others describe) no On/Off switch ..with the mains input socket hidden under the mixer, so the only way to switch it Off is to unplug it from the mains, or - preferably - to fit its mains plug into a SWITCHED socket.
Useful Limiters, but only on mic XLR inputs 1 and 2, and no 'softer' or 'gentler' compressor(s); but very flexible routing via three AUX channels, and lockable pre-fade buttons for balancing sound before its actual output via the Master stereo outs. Left/right Pan controls throughout.
Good value for money, especially for bringing new life to old mics!
