As part of the Bass Workshop series, Ibanez designers regularly release basses developed according to their personal ideas. These unique instruments feature new innovations and features designed to help musicians push the boundaries of bass playing.
With the SRSC 805 Ibanez presents the second singlecut bass of this unique series, which convinces as a real noble bass. The fingerboard material and the barrier strips of the full-length neck are made of noble amaranth (Purpleheart), which sets optical accents with its deep violet colouring. These are perfectly complemented by the exciting grain of the Poplar Burl blanket.
Despite its sweeping singlecut construction, the Ibanez SRSC805-NTF offers the typical playing comfort of a Soundgear: The flat body nestles comfortably against the player, while the slim neck lies comfortably in the hand. Thanks to the perfectly shaped neck and body transition, the entire fingerboard of the Soundgear Singlecut is freely accessible despite the upper half of the body reaching up to the 13th fret.
High-quality pickups from Bartolini promise a differentiated, warm sound that harmoniously integrates the low B-string into the sound. The focus is on a vocal mid-presence that captures the natural wood sound of the Ibanez SRSC805-NTF. With the active Ibanez 3-band tone control, the sound can be adjusted in a wide spectrum, from a full push from the bass cellar to a brilliant wire click.
Single bridges in the form of five Ibanez Mono Rail V guarantee a string swing without mutual interference, so that the SRSC805-NTF has a particularly resonant and open sound. The strings are countered at the head plate by reliable die-cast mechanisms that guarantee unshakeable tuning stability.
