With the Storm -Drums, Mapex beginners will find drums with a higher level of equipment, which can even compete with much more expensive drum series. New features make it easy even for beginners to tickle a professional sound out of their shooting gallery. And the Mapex Storm drums also have a lot to offer externally with new finishes and hardware options. True to the motto "More drums for your money", the Mapex Storm drums are convincing both in sound and appearance.
Just like the Saturn high-end series, the Storm drums also feature the SONIClear boiler burr. The strongly rounded burr increases the contact between the coat and the kettle and thus ensures a better transmission of the vibrations from the coat to the kettle. The result is not only a very warm, focused and powerful sound; the SONIClear Kesselgratung also makes tuning the drums child's play.
The Storm drums' toms come in the popular "Flat Sizes", so they are much flatter than conventional drums. This provides a very attack-rich and defined sound that doesn't get lost even at 240 bpm blast beats. The poplar wood boilers provide harmonious overtones and a pronounced middle range, which is well able to assert itself in the complete mix.
All Storm drumkits come with an extensive hardware package. The cymbal stands have a base with double braced legs, three single tubes allow a flexible positioning of the cymbals. All stands come with a new concave leg design, which makes it easier to accommodate the stands in the setup. All hardware components of the Storm sets are also available separately, with a choice of chrome or black-coated tripods.
In contrast to its predecessor, this Storm set has a second Floor Tom with 14"x12" at the start.
But in order to make a round thing out of this chic set, all you need are cymbals! That's why a Planet Z basin set from Zidljian is Mapex added on top.
