The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Blackcap is an inspiring evolution of the popular Whitecap Dual Asynchronous Tremolo, combining an analog tremolo effect for volume modulation with a digital harmonic tremolo that crossfades between the high and low frequency ranges. Accordingly, the handy effect pedal delivers a convincing sound experience for creative soundscapes and alternative experiments.
The right half of the OBNE Blackcap houses the classic analog tremolo effect, which allows the volume to rise and fall. Rate and Depth controls give you control over the speed and depth of the effect, while Volume determines its volume. Boosts to the signal strength are also possible.
The digital Harmonic Tremolo effect in the left half of Old Blood Noise Endeavors' Blackcap crossfades between the high and low frequencies of the signal, significantly affecting the timbre. In addition to Rate and Depth controls for adjusting the effect's speed and depth, the Harmonic Tremolo features a Volume control that boosts the output signal to its maximum setting. In addition, the digital harmonic tremolo effect offers five selectable waveforms for tuning the sound character and a tap tempo function with sub-division for the rhythm of the modulation.
In addition, the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Blackcap is equipped with a Series-Parallel switch that determines the internal signal path of the effects pedal. While in serial mode the signal from the analog volume tremolo runs into the digital harmonic tremolo, in parallel mode both effects are operated side by side. In this case, the mix of both effects can be adjusted via their volume controls. Last but not least, the OBNE's Ramp mode allows you to maximize the effect's speed by holding down the Tap Tempo footswitch.
