The rockruepel comp.two is a high-quality Vari-Mu tube compressor that has been specially developed for professional mastering, mixing and recording applications. Its fully symmetrical tube design ensures a clear and transparent sound that meets the highest audiophile standards.
With non-stepped input and output gains, the comp.two allows precise adjustment of the signal. The amp-only mode allows the device to be used exclusively as a tube preamplifier, adding characteristic tube sound to the signal without compression.
The sidechain control offers four selectable high-pass filter frequencies (54 Hz, 74 Hz, 110 Hz, 160 Hz) to exclude unwanted bass frequencies from the compression process. This ensures clean and effective compression, especially with bass-heavy material.
The device is housed in a robust aluminum housing with a 6 mm thick front panel and uses high-quality SOWTER transformers for inputs and outputs as well as precise ALPS potentiometers. The VU meters can be calibrated for an accurate reading and the true hardware bypass allows for an unbiased comparison of the processed and unprocessed signal.
