The Tama Starclassic Bubinga BG52ZUS is a set with five drum kettles in the sizes 22" bass drum, 10" and 12" tom toms as well as 14" and 16" floor toms. The 100% Bubinga boilers are equipped with Smoked Black Nickel hardware, which harmonizes perfectly with the Satin Aztec Gold Metallic finish. The sound of the Starclassic Bubinga Drums is extremely powerful, dark and rich with aggressive attack, tailored for professional applications in the studio and on stage.
All drum shells of the Starclassic Bubinga series are made of 9 layers of exotic wood, which gives the bass drum a wall thickness of 7 mm, while the toms and floor toms are only 6 mm thick.
African Bubinga is about 53 % harder than maple or birch. In terms of sound, this results in a very sharp and aggressive attack, combined with an incredibly rich and fat low end.
The shell hardware, in the form of clamping brackets, cast iron hoops and Star-Cast tom suspension, comes completely in a Smoked Black Nickel finish and gives the Starclassic Bubinga Drums a noble and exclusive appearance. All hardware parts are underlaid with rubber buffers to optimize the resonance behavior of the wood boilers.
Both the Star-Cast Tom support system and the Floor Tom legs are equipped with Quick-Lock brackets, thanks to which the assembly of Toms or Floor Tom legs can be carried out in seconds. In addition, there is no need to use additional memory locks, since the Quick-Lock brackets save the settings once they have been made.
Other notable features are the Floor Tom's air-suspended feet, which improve resonance and give the drum more tone and sustain. Thanks to the Hold Tight washers, all drums remain tuning stable. The drumheads are made by Toms Evans and Floor Toms and are equipped with G2 drumheads and G1 resonating heads. The bass drum gets its powerful sound from a transparent EQ4 beat skin.
