The Defender MIDI 5 2D HV is a heavy-duty, all-round cable bridge with a 3D Lasergrip anti-slip surface made from black, recycled polyurethane from the newly developed Defender 2D M modular system for accessibility.
The issue of accessibility in particular has become an increasingly important focus for event organisers and public authorities in recent years. With conventional cable bridge systems, a compromise often had to be made between accessible entry and vehicle accessibility. With the new Defender 2D M, this is no longer the case: A fully drive-over and, at the same time, accessible ramp with a 6° gradient is fitted to each centre section. The gentle gradient makes it easy for wheelchair users to cross effortlessly and is stable enough to be driven over by forklift trucks and lorries.
The system can be extended to any length and width. This ensures easy access and safety even in areas where five channels are not sufficient, e.g. near power generators or the FOH. Audio, lighting and power cables can be laid individually, effortlessly and safely. The completely symmetrical design of the centre sections simplifies assembly, and you’ll never have to search for the right attachment part again. Precise assembly plans are not required either. Thanks to this symmetry, laying centre sections and ramps in a semi-interlocking configuration achieves optimum stability in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, whilst at the same time eliminating the need for small parts such as adaptors and connectors. The connections have been designed to allow sufficient play for easy assembly whilst still providing adequate stability. Should the cable bridges need to be laid without ramps, adaptors are available for connecting the centre sections lengthways.
