This piano has proven itself and earned its laurels since the 70's in most important conservatories, colleges, music schools, piano teachers and pianists.
The sound character is considered to be transparent and transparent - that is why, and because of the precise way of playing, this piano is also so popular with music students. The U1 with its height of 121cm is ideal for apartments and private houses with medium-sized living rooms; for school auditoriums, community halls and smaller theatres you should choose the 10cm higher U3 (131cm).
The SH2- Silent System represents the latest generation of YAMAHA's mute system, and when you wear the included headphones and mute the acoustic sound, it sounds so realistic that you'll think you forgot to mute the piano. You have 19 sounds to choose from (several grand piano sounds, including the famous Bösendorfer Imperial, E- and D-pianos, harpsichords & organs, and much more) and can add a metronome if required and/or (with a USB stick plugged in) play your own recordings in CD quality.
