iZotope Neutron 3 Advanced EDU

iZotope goes into the third round with Neutron and offers with the Advanced version an even more improved and extended software for mixing applications in every genre. Especially this version is a discounted EDU software for students and faculties. A new addition is the so-called Mix Assistant. It analyzes the audio material determined by the user and sets Neutrons level parameters to calculated values to generate a balanced overall picture and thus provide a good starting point for the mix. At the same time, a masking meter is available that detects and highlights frequency overlaps between different instruments, allowing problematic resonances to be corrected and mixes to be balanced in terms of sound. Classic plug-ins like EQ, compressor, gate, exciter, limiter, but also the new Sculptor should not be missing, which is why Neutron 3 Advanced brings them all under one hood. The latter plugin offers Spectral Shaping to emphasize certain characteristics of the instrument used oder to make it sound completely different.

The modular use in the signal chain, as well as mix controls to change the intensity of the respective plugins make it very easy to make small changes to the sound and test which tool works best for you at which point. In general, features like Tonal Balance Control, Visual Mixer and Track Assistant are still available and will bring any Mix up to speed. Since you have full control over every parameter at all times, Neutron 3 Advanced is great for inspiration, assistance and learning new approaches.

Mix Assistant:

• Select a specific part of your mix and let Neutron 3 automatically adjust your volumes before you even touch a fader.

Enhance your audio:

• The new Sculptor module works with Spectral Shaping to make your instruments sound more like themselves...or something completely different!

Improved Masking Meter:

• Frequencies of multiple instruments are now detected more accurately, allowing you to work in a more targeted manner. Resonances caused by overlapping frequencies are now easier to fix.

Visual Mixer & iZotope Relay:

• Start the mix wizard directly from the Visual Mixer and move your tracks in a virtual room - the slightly different way to mix! The keyword here is inter-plugin communication: All plugins communicate with each other and can be used in combination to harmonize better.

Track Assistant

• The Track Assistant listens to your audio signal and creates a custom Preset for you. Based on this, it's easier to start oder finding inspiration.

8 plug-ins combined:

• The modular plug-ins in Neutron 3 can be changed at will in the signal chain. This includes the EQ with the new Soft Saturation mode, the Transient Shaper, two compressors, a gate, din Exciter and Limiter as well as the new Sculptor module.

• Prefer to use the plug-ins individually? No problem: or EQ, Sculptor, Limiter oder any other plug-in - just add it to an insert of the track of your choice and you're ready to go.

Tonal Balance Control:

• Also improved, the Tonal Balance Control feature shapes a mix with you based on thousands of professional mixes. It compares your project to known productions and visualizes frequency ranges that "overshoot".

7.1 Surround Sound Support:

• All eight Module now work in 7.1 systems, and also help established and professional studios. Equally important is the Zero Latency mode, to work optimally in audio post-production and with surround music.
