The
Alexander Pedals Sky 5000
is clearly based on the legendary rack units of the 80s and 90s in the tuning of its delay and reverb engines, with extensive sound options combined with clear and intuitive operation. Accordingly, the effects pedal not only convinces with classic reverb and echo sounds, but also proves to be a portal to dreamy ambient soundscapes with massive reverbs and dreamy delays. In addition to the Tap Tempo function, which determines the rhythm of the echoes thanks to the Division control, the Ramp and Neo-Morph functions of the Alexander Sky 5000 pedal also allow smooth switching between two different effect settings.
The heart of the Alexander Pedal Sky 5000 is undoubtedly its effect engines, which provide a total of six different delays and reverbs. Accordingly, not only a top-class reverb is provided, but also a shimmer reverb with an octave up and a reverb with an octave down. In addition to the extremely transparent and bright digital delay, the Alexander Pedal also offers the simulation of an analog delay based on a Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) and an oil-can mode for rough, blurred echoes with slight distortion. The Tap Tempo function also lets you easily adjust the delay time to match the song being played, while the Division function controls the rhythm of the repetitions.
Despite its extensive sound options, the Alexander Pedals Sky 5000 is characterized by its ease of use. Each of the four controls has a secondary function that can be accessed by holding down the Select button, so that each effect parameter can be adjusted quickly and accurately. Another special feature is the combination of Ramp and Neo-Morph effect, which crossfades between two different effects settings. The time until the second setting is reached is between 0 and 10 seconds. In addition, the Alexander Sky 500 offers an Auto-Trail function, so that the effect fades out after the Bypass footswitch is pressed. Once found, sounds can also be saved to one of four memory locations. Last but not least, the Alexander Sky 5000 pedal's Multi-Jack jack allows you to connect optional expression pedals or the optional Alexander pedals Neo Footswitch and Neo Link MIDI controllers.
