With the VNL-500 USB, Glorious presents a turntable that should be interesting for vinyl lovers and home use. The record player scores with an integrated USB interface, which makes it child's play for users to digitize records on the computer and archive them for eternity. The VNL-500 USB offers the common speeds 33 1/3 and 45 RPM, which can be adjusted +/- 10 % with the pitch control, and achieves an above-average smoothness with its cast aluminum platter. The unit also has an integrated phono preamp, which makes it possible to operate the VNL-500 USB with active speakers or an amplifier with a phono or line connection. In addition to the essentials such as headshell, counterweight and slipmat, the scope of delivery also includes a Reloop OM-Black (by Ortofon) cartridge as well as a removable dust cover with a replaceable RCA cable.
The installed direct drive is particularly effective and features minimal synchronization fluctuations. The VNL-500 USB transmits the 5.5 kg/cm torque directly to the drive hub, generating higher output.
The VNL-500 USB features a statically balanced, S-shaped tonearm with hydraulic lift and anti-skating mechanism. A wide range of pickups can be connected to the tonearm via the universal SME connector.
Included with the VNL-500 USB is a high quality Reloop - OM Black pickup made by Ortofon and a matching SME headshell.
The built-in and switchable phono preamplifier allows signal output via phono or line, eliminating the need for grounding.
The record player offers a USB port for digitizing records. The computer only needs to be connected to the USB port for this purpose. The USB interface is class-compliant and requires no additional driver installation with Windows or Apple operating systems.
The scratch-resistant surface with a brushed look has been equipped with buttons for start/stop and speed for 33 1/3 and 45 RPM vinyl. The rugged construction, with optimized damping characteristics, reduces vibration and the shock-absorbing feet add further isolation.
