The Rockboard Step Up 3 increases the height of your pedals with an angled design and a black metal finish. The Step Up 3 increases the height of three standard size pedals for better access on the upper rows of a RockBoard Pedalboard. Crafted from metal, this tool can be attached via screws or Velcro.
The main features of the Rockboard Step Up 3 include:
Although it's not strictly designed for use with the Roakboard, this is a useful piece of kit that makes a great pedalboard even better. There are two methods to attaching to your pedalboard; either via velcro (for ease of repositioning) or permanently with the included self tapping screws.
Now the minor niggles (hence the 4* Features rating) -
1. The supplied velcro is really not up to scratch and wouldn't be the best means of attaching the riser (and the pedal) securely to the board. If you are going for this method of securing the riser I'd recommend ditching the supplied velro and using either / or combination of heavy duty velcro loops and dual lock hooks on the riser.
2. If you opt for the permanent fixing solution using the supplied screws, you'll need to 3mm drill holes into the board. This is my preferred option, but I didn't like the idea of sharp screw tips protruding on the underneath where cables, or your fingers, might get caught. So I purchased some button head hex bolts to give it a cleaner (and safer) finish.
It's a shame that the riser wasn't constructed in such a way that it could be securely be connected to the Rockboard without the need to drill holes, but overall I am very happy with the product. And drilling a couple of holes was no biggie!
