Telefunken M81 Universal Dynamic Dynamic Microphone

The Telefunken M81 is a variant of the popular M80 with less emphasis on the high frequencies. It is suitable as an alternative to standard dynamic microphones in all applications where their strongly emphasised mid-range is not required or where a different sound character is desired. Like the M80, the M81 exhibits a fairly linear frequency response, albeit with a treble boost of only around 5 dB in the range between 3.5 and 10 kHz. It is therefore particularly well-suited to high-pitched vocals or brass instruments, but also excels when placed in front of guitar amps or on toms or the snare drum. Its sound is consistently balanced and smooth, with minimal proximity effect and superior protection against feedback. Thanks to its robust construction, it can also be used on stage.
