Snare drum from Pearl's Modern Utility series with 14" x 5.5" shell made from the finest maple wood. The Modern Utility Snare is with steel hoops for a very flexible tuning and is therefore perfectly suited as a side or main snare. Not least because of the great price-performance ratio it is a great choice for beginners and advanced drummers.
The shell of the Modern Utility Snare Drum is made of a total of 6 layers of maple wood and thus comes to a wall thickness of 5 mm. Pearl's proprietary SST (Superior Shell Technology) process guarantees perfectly round shell and thus provides the prerequisite for first-class sound.
For the shell hardware of the Modern Utility Maple Snares, Pearl relies on the tried and tested. The 1.6 mm thick steel hoops allow the snare enough air to breathe and provide the sound with an open sound character that can be flexibly varied. The same goal is pursued by the bridge-style lugs, which let the shell resonate freely with minimal contact.
