The Diezel Zerrer Guitar Effects Pedal is a twin channel pedal (Ch1: clean/dirty, Ch2: high gain) which can be used either in front of a (clean) amp or in a loop (amp's return) or into a power amp like a pre-amp.
The Zerrer also features Send/stereo return for FX, compensated out (stereo) for direct recording, stereo aux interface to play along mp3s, iPhone/iPad or HiFi, headphone out and remote switch jack.
The main features of the Diezel Zerrer Guitar Effects Pedal include;
I am a former Diezel Herbert user and I must say that I am more than satisfied with the new Diezel Zerrer preamp. First off its very versatile. Using the first channel, based on Diezels D-Moll, you can get anything from a pristine clean tone to a very British overdrive. The 2nd Channel, based on Diezels VH4, picks it up from there and brings you into very high gain territories. This channel is supposedly based on Channel 3 of a VH4 but in my opinion it sounds actually halfway between a VH4 and a Herbert. At any rate it sounds like a Diezel!
Also, my previous poweramp was a good old tube mesa V-twin and despite having no tubes, the Zerrer is really on par with it! Its extremely (or amazingly?!) responsive to picking and attack nuances and that makes it a real pleasure to play!
One more thing, this preamp has a lot of character, and might not accommodate any pedal you plug into it (especially OD/Distortion pedals) but for sure its very transparent and will let all your guitars shine through.
I use it with an old Godin Artisan (DiMarzio p/u), an LTD EC-1000 Vintage Black (EMGs) and a Lag Hardmaster (Seymour Duncan p/u) and all three sound, as youd expect, totally different Zerrer!
To top it all, the building quality and all the outputs available makes this preamp a great tool you can count on in almost any situation. As a travelling musician, I combine it to a Torpedo C.A.B and Ive got a portable and killer rig for any gig!
With this new product, Diezel definitely lives up to its reputation. Grab one!
